On November 15, 2018, Steve Stodghill was honored with The Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Larry Schoenbrun Award. This award is presented annually by the North Texas/Oklahoma Regional Office of ADL to a legal professional for outstanding leadership, exemplary contributions to the legal community, and a commitment to the ideals of the ADL.

Steve’s philanthropic involvement in the community is vast and impactful. He has chaired numerous events, including the Cancer Blows Gala, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala, the NBA All-Star Game VIP event for Sports for Education and Economic Development in Africa, the Dallas Opera First Night Dinner, and the Vince Young Foundation fundraiser. He served on the Executive Committee of the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America, as a Board Member of the Dallas Opera and the Dallas Summer Musicals, and as a member of the Capital Campaign Committee for Parish Episcopal School. He was also the Honorary Chair for DIFFA, the Harvest event for the North Texas Food Bank, the SPCA Fur Ball, and the Inaugural and Honorary Chair of the Special Evening Event for LaunchAbility (which later awarded him the Milton P. Levy Award for support of children and adults with cognitive disabilities).

Winston & Strawn Dallas Office Managing Partner Tom Melsheimer, along with Todd Wagner, who serve as honorary co-chairs of the 2018 event, said: “We personally know how deserving Steve is of this award and are delighted to have this opportunity to highlight his work in the community and the important work of ADL.”

Steve has been a commercial litigator for more than 30 years and is a founding partner of Winston’s Dallas office. Steve possesses a broad range of experience in complex commercial litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in contractual disputes, breach of fiduciary duty cases, securities litigation and arbitration, shareholder derivative actions and shareholder oppression cases, TRO and injunctive relief proceedings, insurance coverage disputes, class actions, employment litigation, catastrophic injury and medical malpractice cases, intellectual property/trade secret theft cases, lawyer/accountant malpractice cases and post-trial/appellate practice.

Steve was honored for his lifetime advancement of the arts the following day by the Business Council for the Arts.
