Amanda Groves Named One of 25 Outstanding Women in Business by the Charlotte Business Journal

Winston & Strawn partner Amanda Groves was honored at the Charlotte Business Journal’s Women in Business Law Awards on June 3, 2014.

Ms. Groves serves as the head of litigation for Winston & Strawn’s Charlotte office and has built a bicoastal, multidisciplinary legal practice focused on representing consumer-product companies, primarily in class-action defense.

In the June 6 Charlotte Business Journal “Women in Business” article, Ms. Groves said the most important lesson she has learned is to take risks.

“My best accomplishments have come when I took risks. I had a great practice in San Francisco, so moving to Charlotte with my family was a big risk,” she said. “I got a lot of questions from my colleagues and family there, but there’s a lot of opportunity in Charlotte. This was a risky but exciting way to grow my practice.”
