Winston & Strawn advises on financing of World Fencing League
December 16, 2025
Winston & Strawn LLP has advised World Fencing League (WFL) on its successful financing from the Flick Family Office, supporting WFL’s mission to transform fencing from a niche Olympic discipline into a modern, fan-driven global sport.
The World Fencing League will debut in Los Angeles on April 25, 2026, marking the launch of a new professional league designed for a contemporary audience. The inaugural event will introduce a reimagined competition format featuring simplified rules, athlete-first storytelling, and technology-enhanced viewing - bringing greater speed, clarity, and accessibility to the sport while preserving elite-level competition.
The World Fencing League was incubated by Chiron Sports Group, a global, family-office-backed investment group focused on shaping the future of sports, alongside Miles Chamley-Watson, one of fencing’s most celebrated and influential athletes.
The Winston & Strawn team was led by Adam Howard and supported by Alex Iparraguirre.
