Winston Embraces the Season of Giving With Charitable Donations Around the World

Winston & Strawn is continuing its holiday tradition of working with local and international charities to bolster our communities during this especially challenging time. This year, Winston is partnering with Angelwish, The Felix Project, The Legal Aid Society, and Child Advocates.

Angelwish
This year, Winston’s firmwide 2020 Winston for Good charity is Angelwish.org. The firm is a proud supporter of this organization which gives holiday gifts to children living with chronic illnesses in over 131 hospitals around the world. Select your local hospital and buy a present for a child in need here!

The Felix Project
Winston’s London office is working with the Felix Project this holiday season. The Felix Project is a UK-based food redistribution charity that primarily addresses food waste. Millions of people in the UK regularly experience hunger, yet tons of surplus fresh food is thrown away daily.

The Felix Project distributes 250 tons of food per week (about 20 million meals per year). This surplus food is collected by volunteers and delivered to food banks, homeless shelters, schools, refuges, day centers, and charities. This charity needs extra support at this time—they recently took charge of FareShare’s London operation.

Support the Felix Project by making a donation here. For every £10 raised, they can distribute 61 meals.

Thanks to the London team’s generosity, Winston raised enough money to provide 1,500 meals to those in need.

The Legal Aid Society
Over the last several years, Winston & Strawn’s New York office has partnered with The Legal Aid Society and contributed to their annual holiday party for homeless and other less fortunate children in the community. This year’s in-person party is canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, Winston is still supporting the organization’s modified efforts by sending toy donations and gift cards for families to purchase food and winter clothing during this very difficult year.

Child Advocates
Winston’s Houston office has a 20-year tradition of supporting Child Advocates during the holiday season. This local organization trains and mobilizes court appointed volunteers to be a voice for abused children currently in the legal system. In the past, Winton has sent truckloads of toys to brighten the holidays for many vulnerable kids in the Houston area. This year, we are continuing to support their important work—while adhering to COVID restrictions—and giving donations online.
