In recent months, Dallas Office Managing Partner Tom Melsheimer has been seen at signing events for his recently published book On the Jury Trial: Principles and Practices for Effective Advocacy. In the book, which received a rave review in The American Lawyer, Tom and co-author Dallas County Judge Craig Smith draw on courtroom experience and use real-world examples to provide dos and don’ts when at trial.

Tom’s first book-signing event was held on November 7 at the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law, which is the beneficiary of all On the Jury Trial proceeds. Several attendees at this event remarked that the book provides young lawyers with great insights into the legal profession.

On December 5, Dallas litigator Lisa Blue hosted a second well-attended event at her home (pictured below). A third signing event on January 16 at the Crescent Club in Dallas featured a lively discussion about the jury trial and its role in our democracy.
