Winston & Strawn invites you to participate in the International Coastal Cleanup® program. Every year during this Ocean Conservancy initiative, hundreds of thousands of volunteers comb lakes, rivers, and beaches around the world for trash. For over three decades, more than 12 million volunteers have collected more than 220 million pounds of trash.

For safety reasons, instead of organized group clean-ups, clean-ups will be self-guided and close to home. Cleaning your neighborhoods, local parks, streets, and storm drains help protect our oceans. Trash travels through all waterways to become beach and ocean pollution.

To Participate: Next time you’re headed out to the beach, nearby park or even a walk in your neighborhood, download Ocean Conservancy’s app, Clean Swell and take along a trash bag to collect and document the debris you find. (You can also use this form to enter the Most Unusual Item Contest.) If you have Winston gear, wear it! Take a picture of yourself participating and let us know how much trash you collected using the hashtag #winston4good.

We are also sending a big thank you to Winston Human Resources Coordinator Tammy Beauparlant and her family who cleaned up 9 pounds of trash for this initiative!

This entry has been created for information and planning purposes. It is not intended to be, nor should it be substituted for, legal advice, which turns on specific facts.
