February 19, 2013

In a press release dated December 19, 2012, ECHA, the European Chemicals Agency, announced that it had updated the candidate list of substances of very high concern (SVHC) with the addition of 24 new substances. The list now contains a total of 138 substances. This list identifies SVHC which may be included, in the medium or long term, in Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation (list of the substances subject to authorization). ECHA initiated a public consultation on SVHC in September 2012.
