November 17, 2021

On November 17, 2021, Judge Yeakel presented his yearly State of the Western District of Texas. Judge Yeakel discussed the nine or so patent cases that were recently transferred from Judge Albright’s Waco docket, via intradistrict transfer, to Austin.

These cases (and future patent cases transferred to Austin), will be randomly assigned to either Judge Yeakel or Judge Pitman. Judge Yeakel stated he expects that with the exception of two present cases that are nearing trial, Judge Albright will not be handling cases transferred to Austin.

Once a case is transferred to Austin, a conference will be set to understand the case status and set a trial date.
