The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently announced that it will be hosting a conference January 14, 2016, to discuss new trends and research surrounding protections of consumer privacy and data security. The FTC’s goal is to “bring together leading stakeholders, including whitehat researchers, academics, industry representatives, federal policymakers, consumer advocates, and others.”
The FTC is seeking presenters from these groups on a variety of topics, including (1) original research on vulnerabilities and ways consumers can be protected against those vulnerabilities, (2) big data and the Internet of Things, and (3) consumers’ attitudes about privacy.
TIP: Those interested in participating as a speaker can submit presentation proposals online after September 10, 2015.
