December 2, 2014

On December 2, 2014, the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management announced the availability for public comment of an Environmental Assessment for an offshore Virginia wind power assessment project. The project, to be conducted by the Commonwealth of Virginia, involves the installation and eventual dismantling of two six-megawatt wind turbine generators and submarine cables connecting the generators to shore. In the Environmental Assessment, BOEM assessed the reasonably foreseeable impacts of the Virginia project and concludes that the project can move forward. Comments on the Environmental Assessment are due by January 2, 2015.
