The US Department of Justice announced that B Navi Ship Management Services has been sentenced to pay $1.5 million for the illegal discharge of oily bilge water, oily sludge, and oily ballast water through a bypass hose from the M/V Windsor Castle. B Navi is an Italian shipping company that operates a fleet of 45 vessels. In addition to the fine, B Navi will be required to comply with a rigorous Environmental Compliance Program, that includes the designation of a company compliance manager, the hiring of an independent compliance consultant, payment for a court-appointed monitor, a number of audits, bilge waste testing and monitoring, and an extensive training program.

Please see Department of Justice News Release on the indictments. See the attached PDF document for the B Navi Ship Management Services indictment.
