February 10, 2017
Our firm was pleased to be the leading sponsor for the Midwest regional rounds of the prestigious 2017 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
Presented by the International Law Students Association, the Jessup Competition is the world’s largest moot court competition with more than 600 law schools competing from 95 countries. This year’s Jessup case addresses trans-boundary aquifers, cultural heritage, basic human rights to food and water, and what happens when arguable violations of those rights generate refugee outflows.
The Midwest regional rounds of the Jessup Moot Court Competition were held February 10-12 at Loyola University Chicago. Winston Chicago Office Managing Partner Linda Coberly was the judge for the final round and litigation partner Bob Michels was a judge for the semi-final round. The top two Midwest teams earned a spot to compete in the international rounds to be held in April in Washington, D.C.
