Winston for Good Supports School Supply Drives Across the Country

With the school year right around the corner, many of Winston’s local offices held backpack and school supply drives during the month of August in support of Winston for Good’s education pillar.

• The Charlotte office held another successful school supply drive to collect donations on behalf of Classroom Central, which has provided free school supplies to over 127,000 students and teachers in high-poverty schools. The drive kicked off on July 26 with a “Cocktails for a Cause” event and presentation by Classroom Central’s leadership team about its goals for the upcoming school year. 
• On August 15, 13 Chicago office volunteers assembled school supply kits for UCAN, which serves 10,000 at-risk children, youth, and families across Illinois. This effort was held in conjunction with a school supply drive, through which firm members donated more than 166 school supply kits to Back 2 School Illinois.
• In Dallas, Genesis Women’s Shelter was pleased to receive a cart full of backpacks and school supplies donated by firm members.
• Firm members in New York filled nine boxes worth of school supplies for Operation Backpack, and dozens of volunteers from Winston and other organizations assembled mounds of backpacks for local shelters during a Volunteers of America event on August 22.
• The San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices partnered with Family Giving Tree to provide 46 backpacks full of essential school supplies for Bay Area students.
