Grine’s unique mix of philanthropic work connects local and international communities through compassion and a common purpose. Whether he is uniting countries around pivotal issues, mentoring children in underserved neighborhoods, or stepping into a boxing ring for charity, Grine leads by example.

A student of history, Grine joined the French-American Foundation (FAF) in 2022, drawn to its mission of fostering the centuries-long allyship and shared interests between France and the United States. The organization brings together a diverse group of decision-makers across a wide range of industries to build lasting, practical ties between the two nations.

Notable highlights of Grine’s impactful work with the organization include a dinner with Denise Bauer, the U.S. Ambassador to France under the Biden administration, as well as his participation in an educational event ahead of the 2024 elections, featuring CNN’s Richard Quest, which provided an in-depth exploration of the complexities of the U.S. electoral process.

In 2024, Grine stepped outside his comfort zone and into the boxing ring when he participated in his first charity boxing match for Papillons du Ciel, an organization that supports the education of children in Madagascar. When a friend reached out and asked if Grine was interested in participating, he was eager to sign up to support the charity despite having no professional boxing experience. Previously, he had only sparred recreationally.

Before the match began, Grine looked into the crowd and saw his father and oldest son in the audience. It was a jarring reminder that, while he had trained hard before the event, that might not be enough. “You don’t play in boxing,” Grine said, reflecting on the moment. “Even at a charity event, you have to be ready for a difficult fight.

Soon, Grine learned he had indeed out-trained his opponent, knocking him out in the first round and earning a €15,000 donation to Les Papillons du Ciel from the Winston & Strawn Foundation. This year, Grine participated in another match and he plans to continue boxing in the charity bouts.

Grine places particular emphasis on supporting charities that help children in need. For instance, he volunteers at an organization that helps children overcome their fear of public speaking.

He also leads by example in his personal life. His son plays for a soccer club, and Grine gives back by supporting under-resourced members of the league. For instance, he has personally assembled and donated packages of T-shirts and sneakers for two teams in the club that couldn’t afford new gear.
