Winston attorneys and staff enjoyed some bean bag tossing fun during the Washington, D.C. office’s Fifth Annual Cornhole Tournament held September 20-23. Matches took place on the rooftop of 1700 K Street NW, where competitors and spectators were surrounded by views of Farragut Park and iconic D.C. landmarks.

Throughout the week, sixteen teams battled it out in single-elimination matches to earn the right to compete for cornhole champion bragging rights. The semi-final match on Friday afternoon pitted “Make Cornhole Great Again” (Partner Drew Sommer and former Associate Cyrus Frelinghuysen) against the “Habitual Linesteppers” (Regional Director of Administration Amanda Martin and Administrative Services Manager Ed Gay).

Spectators cheered on the semi-finalists while enjoying picnic-style food and beverages, with “Make Cornhole Great Again” posting a decisive victory and a spot in the final on Monday, October 3, when they will go up against Office Managing Partner Tom Buchanan and Associate Matt Saxon (team “AMDG”) for this year’s cornhole crown.

The weather was perfect for the tournament and social, and a good time was had by all! Click here for more pictures from the social.
