The new corporate associates were back in Chicago this week for a two-day interactive workshop on the fundamentals of a “deal.” With outside experts, we explored real-world examples and documents, studied the life-cycle of a business, and gained insight into the minds of our clients. Together, we learned that being a deal lawyer involves much more than legal expertise. We’re in the business of solving our client’s legal and business problems, so that we can get the deal done. (There was also a great Italian dinner with way too much food.)
