Abe Lincoln Presents Trophy to D.C. Cornhole Champs

Winston attorneys and staff enjoyed some beanbag-tossing fun during the Washington, D.C. office’s Sixth Annual Cornhole Tournament, which was held July 12-14. Matches took place on the rooftop of 1700 K Street NW, where competitors and spectators were surrounded by views of Farragut Park and iconic D.C. landmarks.

Throughout the week, 13 teams battled it out in single-elimination matches to earn the right to compete for cornhole champion bragging rights. The final match on Friday afternoon pitted the originally-named “Buchanan/Osyf” team (Office Managing Partner Tom Buchanan and Peter Osyf) against “One Hitch” (IT Practice Counsel Jessica Hill and Partner Paul Goulet).

Spectators cheered on the finalists while enjoying cool summer beverages, with “One Hitch” posting a decisive victory and claiming the crown as 2017 Cornhole Champions.

Special guest Abe Lincoln from the Washington Nationals baseball team presided over the trophy presentation and raffled off Nationals tickets during a tournament after-party to celebrate the winners.
