Federal Lands: To Develop Or Conserve?

On the same day the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a right-of-way (ROW) notice to proceed authorizing Ocotillo Express LLC to begin construction of a 315 megawatt (MW) wind energy project on federal land in California, the Quechan Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking to enjoin construction.
