Advertising, marketing and entertainment partner Liisa Thomas, based in Winston & Strawn's Chicago office, spoke at the International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Marketing and Advertising's Consumer Savvy Marketing seminar on June 7, 2012 in New York. The focus of this conference was understanding and respecting consumers using self-regulation.
Ms. Thomas presented "Social Media Pitfalls and Best Practices." With the proliferation of social media tools available to advertisers and marketers, this session discussed the pitfalls and best practices that can help your efforts succeed. This presentation analyzed current examples of social media marketing and advertising and the legal issues they raise. Ms. Thomas was joined by Stephanie Kornblum, an attorney with Microsoft Corporation.
