Winston & Strawn presented an executive briefing titled "Health Care Financing — What to Do When a Health Care Business is in Distress" on September 18, 2007 in the firm's New York office. This program addressed some of the unique challenges of health care financing and distressed health care businesses, including restructuring, financial, and operational issues, and recent issues and developments in health care financing. This program was for parties involved with public and private finance for healthcare institutions and financial managers of health care organizations.
The panelists for this program were: Guy Sansone, Managing Director of Alvarez & Marsal, Inc. and the former appointed President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Restructuring Officer of Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers; Andrew Turnbull, Director with the Financial Restructuring Group in the Chicago office of Houlihan Lokey; David Neier, partner in Winston & Strawn's restructuring and insolvency practice; and Marion Goldberg, partner in Winston & Strawn's health care practice. The panelists discussed providing financing for health care businesses, what do when a health care business is in distress, and what to do if a health care business files for bankruptcy. The panelists also discussed what the future may hold with respect to financing and reorganization in this specialized industry. |
