CHARLOTTE — Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that Joshua M. Smith has joined its corporate finance practice in Charlotte as of counsel. Smith's practice focuses on leveraged finance, private equity, and other syndicated bank loan transactions. He joins Winston from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.
Smith brings a decade of experience counseling foreign and domestic corporations and banks in a variety of sophisticated transactions and jurisdictions, including New York and London. His work includes syndicated bank loan transactions, energy-based asset financings, asset-backed lending transactions, private equity investments, and mergers and acquisitions.
"As the Charlotte banking market continues to rebound and expand, it needs the kind of broad experience that Joshua offers," said Tom Cottingham, managing partner of Winston's Charlotte office. "His savvy and practical know-how are a great fit for the firm's national practice, too."
Smith received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was editor-in-chief of the Michigan Journal of International Law. He earned a B.S.F.S., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. |
