Winston & Strawn litigation partner Michael Elkin was named as one of the "100 Most Influential Attorneys in Entertainment" by The Hollywood Reporter in the IP-Tech category. This is second consecutive year that Mr. Elkin has been named to this prestigious group of attorneys.

Mr. Elkin, based in the firm's New York office, is noted for his diverse client roster, including Veoh, EMI, Wolfgangsvault, Ed Hardy clothing designer Christian Audigier, and Yahoo!.

According to the Reporter, the IP-Tech attorneys named are the leading lawyers shepherding intellectual property rights holders into the digital age. The Reporter cites Elkin as a copyright specialist and points to his defense of user-generated video site Veoh in a closely watched infringement action brought by Universal Music Group that could set a precedent for a similar case brought by Viacom against YouTube. The article also discusses Elkin's lead role in an appeal in the Second Circuit on behalf of Yahoo! subsidiary Launch Media in a copyright infringement action brought by Sony BMG.
