Seth Spitzer is an associate in the firm’s New York office who focuses on complex commercial and securities litigation and arbitration.
Mr. Spitzer represents inter-dealer brokers and individuals in litigations and arbitrations concerning restrictive covenants and allegations of raiding. He has also worked on securities arbitrations involving claims alleging fraud, account churning, and rules violations.
Mr. Spitzer’s other past representations include:
- Defending an international financial institution against claims of employment discrimination.
- Defending a claim brought by a leading private equity fund before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre against an Asia-based client.
- Representing a Futures Commission Merchant in an arbitration before the New York Mercantile Exchange concerning floor trading improprieties.
- Representing a client involved in complex litigation surrounding the world's first residential cruise ship.
Mr. Spitzer also has previously focused on aviation litigation, including disputes resulting from major airline and private aircraft disasters and ground incidents. He has advised London Market insurers on coverage under hull and hangarkeepers policies and participated in matters involving the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions.
Activities
Mr. Spitzer is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the Federal Bar Council. He is also active with the City Bar Justice Center and United Way of New York City.
Through the City Bar Justice Center, Mr. Spitzer currently represents an individual in Cancellation of Removal Proceedings before the United States Department of Justice, Executive Office of Immigration Review.
Education
Mr. Spitzer received a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. He received a J.D., cum laude, in 2004 from Brooklyn Law School.
