Joshua Smith is of counsel in the firm’s Charlotte office whose practice focuses on corporate lending and corporate finance.
He has extensive experience representing domestic and foreign commercial banks, investment banks, other financial institutions, and private equity funds in a variety of financing transactions, including leveraged finance and other syndicated bank loan transactions, the financing of financial assets, energy-based asset financings, asset-backed lending transactions, and debtor-in-possession financings.
Activities
Mr. Smith serves on the 2011-2012 Steering Committee for the Arts & Science Council’s Young Donor Society and is a member of Leadership Charlotte Class 33.
Education
Mr. Smith received his B.S.F.S., cum laude, in Foreign Service from the Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in 1997. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 2001, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Journal of International Law.
