John Albers is a corporate associate in the firm’s Chicago office who focuses his practice on all manner of private equity matters. He represents private equity fund sponsors in the formation and operation of their funds and related management entities. He also has significant experience representing institutional investors with the evaluation and negotiation of private equity investments, including buyers and sellers of private equity fund interests in secondary market transactions.
Mr. Albers also has experience in mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate transactions.
Mr. Albers’ pro bono experience includes representing a major community development financial institution with respect to various transactional, corporate and intellectual property matters. Mr. Albers also represents students in Chicago Public Schools in efforts to obtain for them an Individual Education Plan tailored for their specific educational needs.
Prior to joining Winston, Mr. Albers worked for Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. in Raleigh, N.C. and San Francisco, managing multiple business units in its VeriTest division.
Education
Mr. Albers received a B.S., cum laude, in Accounting and Finance in 1999 from The University of Dayton and a J.D. in 2008 from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal and Holderness Moot Court team.
