David Bloch is a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office. He concentrates his practice on complex intellectual property litigation, including commercial disputes involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. He has a particular focus on design patents.

Mr. Bloch’s experience also includes intellectual property matters that involve aspects of antitrust law and government contracts. His clients have a strong presence in technical and medical fields such as biotechnology, semiconductors, consumer products, and computer hardware and software.


Activities

Mr. Bloch served as a member of the California State Bar Litigation Section’s Committee on Jury Instructions, which advised the California Judicial Council Task Force on Jury Instructions during the preparation of the state’s Civil Jury Instructions, Fourth Set (2003).


Education

Mr. Bloch received a B.A. in Political Science in 1993 from Reed College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  He received a Master of Public Health in 1996 from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and a J.D., with honors, in 1996 from George Washington University Law School.  In 1997, Mr. Bloch was a fellow in International Trade Law at the University of European Studies in Turin, Italy.
