We obtained a trial win for Barr Labs in an Abbreviated New Drug Application case in which Barr challenged the validity of a patent covering a method of treating Alzheimer’s disease using a drug called Galantamine, which is sold by Janssen under the trade name Razadyne IR®. This decision enables Barr to compete for a share of what is currently a $130 million market.

Winston & Strawn LLP advised the Private Creditors Coordination Committee, consisting of BNP Paribas, SociTtT GTnTrale, and Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. in the Republic of Congo''s (Brazzaville) issuance of $477.79 million in Eurobonds as part of a restructuring of its external commercial debt, typically called London Club debt. The coordination committee represented a class of international creditors holding claims against Congo, Brazzaville in excess of $2 billion. With a participation rate by the London Club creditors of over 92 percent, most of these claims were exchanged on a concessional basis for the Eurobonds as part of a debt reduction effort in line with the requirements of the International Monetary Fund''s Enhance
