Corey Tessler is the chairman of Winston & Strawn’s real estate practice. He concentrates his practice on complex finance transactions involving commercial real estate.
Mr. Tessler has developed several mortgage conduit/securitization programs for lending institutions across the country involving hotel, multifamily, retail, and office properties.
He has extensive experience in construction lending; mezzanine financing and the structuring of preferred equity transactions; fee and leasehold financing; and the refinancing of shopping centers, office buildings, and multifamily projects. Mr. Tessler has worked on a number of acquisitions and sales of hotels and shopping centers, and on leasing transactions involving commercial retail space. In addition, he has assisted lenders in the workout restructuring of defaulted loan facilities and has negotiated pre-packaged bankruptcy plans.
His representative clients include Wachovia Bank, National Association; Credit Suisse; Barclays Bank; CIBC; Natixis; and Deutsche Bank.
Honors and Awards
Mr. Tessler was recognized as a New York Super Lawyer each year from 2006 through 2011.

Education
Mr. Tessler received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Tufts University in 1983 and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986.
