Kimball Anderson is a nationally recognized trial lawyer with 35 years of experience at Winston & Strawn LLP. He concentrates in the areas of patent and trademark infringement, class actions, antitrust, professional liability, and product liability litigation.

Mr. Anderson is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Fellowship in the American College is extended only by invitation, after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of trial advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. He has tried many complex commercial cases to verdict in state and federal courts around the country and has argued cases before the federal courts of appeals, including two arguments before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Anderson is recognized as one of “America’s Leading Lawyers for Business” in Chambers USA. Chambers USA has reported in various editions that Mr. Anderson “shows excellent judgment and is highly respected by the judiciary,” and that he is “just a great litigator and wonderful in court.” Mr. Anderson has been voted by his peers in 2007 through 2013 as a “Top 100 Illinois Super Lawyer.” Additionally, Mr. Anderson is a Laureate of the Illinois Academy of Lawyers, is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell®, is listed as a “Top 100 Business Lawyer in Illinois” by the Leading Lawyers Network, and is ranked in The Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Anderson also is involved in alternative dispute resolution as an advocate, an arbitrator, and a mediator. Mr. Anderson also is a “Distinguished Neutral” for the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution, the country’s leading nonprofit alternative dispute-resolution organization. He is recommended in Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration. Mr. Anderson also serves as an expert witness in professional responsibility matters.

Mr. Anderson served for many years as Winston & Strawn’s General Counsel and as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Mr. Anderson was honored as the “Person of the Year” by Chicago Lawyer magazine in 1996 and received the ABA’s Pro Bono Publico Award in 2003.

Mr. Anderson is a 1977 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law where he graduated first in his class, summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, and served as editor of the Law Review. He also is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois.
