Stephen Durchslag is a partner in the firm’s Chicago office.
Mr. Durchslag handles all aspects of intellectual property law, with a concentration in advertising, promotions, entertainment, and e-commerce. He counsels clients on corporate transactions and intellectual property issues ranging from trademarks and copyright to sponsorship matters.
Mr. Durchslag and his group have represented advertising agencies, promotional companies, and major consumer product companies for 40 years. His clients include DDB Chicago Inc., Rubin Postaer and Associates, Burrell Communications Group, Einson Freeman, Flair Communications, Wunderman, Pizza Hut, The Wm. Wrigley, Jr. Company, and The J. M. Smucker Company.
Honors and Awards
Mr. Durchslag is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Chambers USA, and The Legal 500. He was honored in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for advertising and intellectual property law and was named a 2007 and 2009 Super Lawyer.
Activities
Mr. Durchslag is a director of the Promotion Marketing Association, Inc. and co-head of PMA's Chicago Chapter. He is pro bono legal counsel to the Chicago Advertising Federation and a board member of the Off the Street Club.
Education
Mr. Durchslag received a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1962 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1966, where he was the recipient of the Felix Frankfurter Scholarship.

Mr. Durchslag frequently addresses the Promotion Marketing Association, the American Association of Advertising Agencies, and the Federal Bar Association.
