Maritime and Admiralty

Winston & Strawn attorneys have been active in a number of international trade issues affecting the maritime industry, including the OECD Shipbuilding Agreement, the export of Alaskan oil, and the World Trade Organization’s Maritime Transport Services negotiations.  We routinely advise clients concerning export control issues, Jones Act compliance, issues relating to the U.S.-flag vessel trading restrictions, and vessel repair duties.  Our attorneys regularly deal with the U.S. Trade Representative, the Department of Transportation, the Office of Foreign Assets Control in the Treasury Department, the Commerce Department, and the U.S. Customs Service.
