Summary:

In May 2002, assistant engineer Duk Jo Jeong and Chief Engineer Pyeong Gab Jung were charged with making false statements to USCG after a search of the Cygnus, a car-carrier ship, revealed a bypass hose and a broken oil incinerator.

Result:

In October 2002, Duk Jo Jeong pleaded guilty to making false statements and was sentenced to 2 years probation, after which he was deported to Korea.  Pyeong Gab Jung also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three months imprisonment, after which he was also deported.
