Kathy Ames is an advisor in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
Ms. Ames joined the firm in 2006 and has devoted her practice to international arbitration matters. Ms. Ames is part of the Winston & Strawn team that represents the Republic of Ecuador and its state-owned company Petroecuador in multiple investor-state arbitrations under ICSID and UNCITRAL rules.
As advisor, Ms. Ames provides legal opinions in civil law matters involving Latin American countries. Ms. Ames also assists pro bono cases involving Spanish-speaking clients.
Activities
Ms. Ames is a member of the Peruvian Bar Association (CAS-Santa) and a member of THEMIS - Law Review Alumni Association, law journal edited by students of the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
Education
Ms. Ames received a LL.B. in 1998 and a law degree in 2000, both from the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
