Cynthia Holbrook is the managing director of practice development for Winston & Strawn’s global litigation practice. She works closely with the firm's litigation department leadership and chief marketing officer to devise and implement strategic growth plans for the firm's 500+ attorney litigation practice. She has also led marketing and client relations efforts for the firm’s antitrust and class action practices, spearheaded national business development projects for the adversarial department, and overseen such firm-wide key marketing initiatives as the ongoing redesign and maintenance of the firm’s Web site and advancement of its new media functions.

Ms. Holbrook began her career as a commercial litigator. Since leaving the practice of law more than a decade ago, she has worked in both the legal and professional services industries. Prior to joining Winston, Ms. Holbrook led marketing and business development functions for former Marsh & McLennan Companies subsidiary Kroll, Inc.’s Western United States Consulting division’s Business Intelligence & Investigations and Financial Advisory Services practices. She was also the global director of marketing for O’Melveny & Myers LLP for more than five years, where she oversaw the firm’s marketing and client development department and directed and implemented regional and global practice development strategies.


Activities

Ms. Holbrook is a former board member of the University of Southern California Law Center’s Institute for Corporate Counsel and a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. She is also an active member of the Legal Marketing Association. Moreover, she has served on the planning committee for Los Angeles non-profit Para Los Niños’ annual Cinco de Mayo fundraiser several times.


Education

Ms. Holbrook received a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California in 1991, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Golden Key National Honor Society. She received a J.D. from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1995 and became a licensed attorney in California the same year.
