| Winston & Strawn obtained a complete victory on behalf of a public technology company in an arbitration in San Francisco brought by our client''s Italian distributor claiming breach of distribution agreement and substantial damages. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs chose our client''s products for its security/firewall needs in connection with the Ministry''s network connecting Italian embassies in more than 500 sites around the world. Our client''s Italian distributor felt it should have been part of this large deal, although the Ministry ultimately chose another of our client''s European distributors. The arbitrator found for our client, awarding no damages to the plaintiff as well as awarding our client 90 percent of its attorney fees and costs. |
