Winston IP Group Receives High Praise in IAM Patent 1000 Ratings

Intellectual Asset Management Magazine, an internationally reported and distributed publication in the IP field, inaugurated its worldwide Patent 1000 ratings. Winston & Strawn and eleven of its attorneys were honored in the feature, which identifies the world's leading patent practitioners.
On a firm-wide level, Winston & Strawn's was one of only 17 patent practices recommended nationally, with the Illinois, Texas and California offices receiving gold, silver, and bronze rankings, respectively. The article reported "ringing endorsements from all corners of the market" for the firm, and relayed praise for the level of service provided by Winston lawyers, which was described as "faultless." The article added that Winston IP lawyers are "easy to form a seamless team with." It emphasized that "Trial skills come first here, and it [Winston] is recognized as a home to courtroom-savvy advocates who are not afraid of tough cases. It has a deep bench of lawyers with extensive experience in first-chair roles."
The directory positively noted the breadth of the firm's patent capabilities, commenting that, Winston's IP group has become a "redoubtable force" nationwide, and that "with assets on the West Coast and in New York, [Winston] now boasts tremendous depth…from coast to coast."
In the Chicago office, partners George Lombardi and Dan Webb received silver ratings.
Winston's Houston office was recognized as being "extremely knowledgeable about the ins and outs of complex patent litigation" and "battle tested." Partner John Keville, who received a bronze ranking, was called a rising star and recognized as "an extraordinarily diligent, no-nonsense straight shooter."
Partner David Enzminger in the Los Angeles office received a bronze rating and praise for his successful handling of high-stakes patent cases. "The dynamic Los Angeles-based team is noted for its skill at trial and ability to present well to the courtroom."
