New York Managing Partner Speaks at 7th Annual Law Firm CIO and CTO Forum
February 1, 2011
Michael Elkin, managing partner of Winston & Strawn's New York office, spoke at the 7th Annual Law Firm Chief Information & Technology Officers Forum on February 1, 2011 in New York.
Mr. Elkin presented the panel titled "The Law Firm Partners' Perspective on IT and Expectations of the CIO." The presentation explored what firm leaders can expect of their CIOs and CTOs by addressing the following questions:
- How do partners best define the role of IT and the CIO in the firm?
- What are the skills a CIO must have in order to obtain a seat at the table and develop the most effective technical agenda?
- What do partners consider success factors when measuring IT and the CIO's performance?
- Do partners expect IT to help the firm grow revenues? If so, how can it be done?
Aric Press, editor in chief of The American Lawyer, moderated the discussion. Mr. Elkin was joined on the panel by Douglas Caddell, chief information officer of Foley & Lardner LLP, Todd Corham, chief information officer of Sedgwick, and Richard Raysman, partner at Holland & Knight.
