Winston & Strawn Labor & Employment Partner Joan Fife spoke at the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) 8th Annual Forum on Defending and Managing Employment Discrimination Litigation on July 28 in Chicago. The conference brought together in-house counsel, litigators, and judges for an opportunity to strategize and discuss recent changes to employment legislation and employment rights and responsibilities.
Ms. Fife moderated the “Views From the Bench on Employment Discrimination Litigation: What Works and Doesn’t Work in Jury Instructions” judges panel which focused on the following topics:
- Voir dire and opening/closing statements
- Examples of poor witness selection
- Inability to connect with a jury
- Good vs. bad lawyering
Ms. Fife is managing partner of Winston’s San Francisco office and the head of the firm’s San Francisco labor and employment group. She represents employers throughout the country in class action employment litigation.
