Jack Knight Discusses Search for Missing Child with WSOC-TV
October 15, 2010
Winston & Strawn of counsel litigator Jack Knight, based in the firm's Charlotte office, appeared on WSOC-TV to discuss the search for missing 10-year-old Zahra Baker.
According to WSOC-TV, Zahra Baker has been missing since October 9. Knight was asked if it would be difficult to prosecute a murder case without a body. "First of all you have to prove that there was a killing. So you can imagine, if there's no body, how do you prove that someone didn't just leave or run away or was maybe even kidnapped," said Knight.
WSOC-TV reported that suspects can be charged with murder without a body, but without a body the prosecution is much more difficult.
"You have to look at all the other evidence and you have to be confident that there is enough other evidence outside of not having the body in order to prove it," said Knight.
