Jack Knight Discusses Possibility of Retrial in John Edwards Case
June 1, 2012
Winston & Strawn partner Jack Knight, based in the firm's Charlotte office, was featured on WSOC-TV, the ABC-affiliated television station in Charlotte, regarding the possibility or a retrial in the John Edwards case. In the profile, "Experts say prosecutors licking wounds after Edwards trial; decision to retry weeks away," Mr. Knight – a former federal prosecutor – explains that it is unlikely that federal prosecutors will retry the case on the five counts that the jury could not reach a verdict; he tells ABC that it is always more difficult for the government to retry a case than it was the first time.
Mr. Knight's practice focuses on government investigations of corporations and individuals, internal investigations, civil litigation, antitrust, SEC enforcement work (including matters before FINRA), FCPA matters, corporate compliance, consumer bank and mortgage related issues, environmental crimes, and other regulatory actions.
