Winston & Strawn's litigation partner Michael Elkin was interviewed on the Wall Street Journal's evening radio show "The Daily Wrap" on July 5, 2011. He discussed the implications of politicians using copyrighted music in their campaign circuits. Host of the show, Michael Castner, described Michael Elkin as "the leading lawyer in the field" of intellectual property.

In the dispute of whether artist copyrighted music can be used freely by politicians, Mr. Elkin sheds light on how continued and overuse of copyrighted music by politicians can draw unwanted attention from the artist. Also, Mr. Elkin spoke about how there is a greater opportunity for backlash when the artist's views do not mesh with the politician who is using their music.

In closing, Castner remarked "if you get a letter from him [Michael Elkin], you might as well cease and desist because this guy doesn't lose very often."
