Partner Amy Gordon co-chaired the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) 15th National Forum on ERISA Litigation, on November 2-3, 2017 in New York.
Amy spoke on the panel titled “Anticipated Regulatory Changes and Realities Under the New Administration: Update on the New DOL Rules on Fiduciaries and Claims Procedures and Key Agency Activity Impacting ERISA Claims and Litigation” on November 2. The panel addressed the following:
- Deciphering the new DOL Fiduciary Rule and its impact on ERISA litigation
- Examining the new DOL Claims Procedures for Plans Providing Disability Benefits and its impact on claims administration and appeals
- Evaluating the possible revival of the DOL opinion letter program
- Assessing the latest DOL ERISA litigation positions and priorities under the new leadership of Secretary of Labor, Alexander Acosta
- Survey of other relevant agency activity impacting ERISA claims, including IRS, EEOC, and PBGC
Amy regularly advises clients on their self-funded and insured health plans, wellness programs, and on-site clinics. She also handles fiduciary issues, including prohibited transactions and other ERISA Title I matters and represents clients before the U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration.
