Class Actions Practice Co-chair Amanda Groves spoke at the Food and Drug Law Institute’s Introduction to Food Law and Regulation seminar on March 3, 2017, in Washington, D.C. The seminar explored the essentials of food law and regulation and provided a comprehensive understanding of the various administrative agencies that impact these industries. Ms. Groves presented on dietary supplements. Other topics include:
- Advertising: Federal Trade Commission and Private Rights of Action
- Food Labeling: General Requirements (Including Meat and Poultry)
- Regulation of Cosmetics
Ms. Groves focuses her practice on consumer class action defense, primarily in cases alleging consumer fraud and false advertising. With her extensive experience in consumer protection statutes, Ms. Groves successfully defends clients in consumer class actions by obtaining dismissal orders, summary judgment, and negotiating settlements with no cash payments by the client.
