Blog
October 7, 2014
The U.S. Coast Guard has published an updated Navigation Rules and Regulations Handbook. The updated Handbook includes the U.S. Inland Navigation Rules and the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972, commonly called the “COLREGS,” and reflects several changes to the NAVRULES and the COLREGS. While most of the changes are technical, the updated NAVRULES include changes to lights for fishing vessels and updated lighting requirements for dredge pipelines and barges. The updated Handbook and supporting materials can be downloaded through the Coast Guard’s website here.
