"The Associates Committee has been a great way to learn more about the cultures and happenings of other Winston offices.  We want to raise awareness and seek solutions for issues that affect associates across the firm.  We also look at general issues that have firm-wide importance.  In short, the Committee, I believe, is a great forum for discussing topics of concern to associates and our other Winston colleagues."

Winston's Associates Committee, which currently includes 11 attorneys from our domestic and international offices, provides a forum for associates to discuss issues of interest and concern.  It works to facilitate two-way communication between and among associates, firm management, partners, and staff.

A partner who serves on the firm's Executive Committee acts as a formal resource to the Associates Committee.  In recent months, the Associates Committee has provided updates and feedback to management regarding a range of issues. For example, in the past, the Committee has initiated contact and provided comments to management on a range of topics, including the associate evaluation process and the firm's mentoring program. The Associates Committee also has been sought after by our Women's Steering Committee, Associate Evaluation, Paralegal Oversight, and Diversity Committees for opinions and recommendations.

The Associates Committee meets as a group each month to review topics and associate concerns. It also convenes quarterly "Office Hours" sessions by office where associates can stop by to meet informally with members of the Committee to ask questions, discuss policy matters, or suggest new firm initiatives.

By having an Associates Committee, Winston hopes to encourage open communication, nurture the next generation of firm leaders, and stay in closer touch with associates' concerns.
